I don’t attend an Ivy League university, so I thought it was impossible to break into a Big Tech company like Microsoft. When I was a freshman, I kept on seeing internship announcement posts from other freshmen who attend Ivy League and top universities. I was so discouraged. I had just been rejected from all my dream Ivy League universities the year prior... ...and I had already gotten rejected by 100+ tech internships. I thought to myself, there is no way companies will choose a non-top university applicant over thousands of top university applicants. But it wasn’t true.
