Eco-ableism in gardening is a tricky topic. Microplastics are a huge and serious issue, but just like banning plastic straws, we can’t issue blanket bans on certain adaptable tools that people with disabilities need, with no easily accessible (both physically and financially) alternative. If you haven’t experienced disability yourself, it can be hard to imagine how alternatives that may be easy for others, may be impossible for some of us to use. But even the most simple alternatives have major accessibility flaws for some people.
