To my first apartment! Going back there and reminiscing on where I came from as a young adult trying to figure it out as a new mom, with no family taking on 18 credit hours was no joke but this brings back so much motivation. I used to cry when we didn’t have hot water which was very often, mold because our ceiling was leaking, roaches because of how old and dirty the apartments were, air conditioner smelling so bad, gun shots and police sirens every night. I couldn’t wait to leave. I was so grateful to have my own and to figure it out. If anyone out there is in the same situation just know it’s only temporary but you have to want it. You have to want it so bad that you have the audacity to do things people wouldn’t think you would do.
