Hiking alone can be scary even for someone like me with a lot of experience doing it. But there’s things I do every single solo hike that help me to be as prepared as possible and that you should too:

@alltrails offline maps
I use AllTrails to download offline maps before heading to the trailhead. This way, the map is on my phone and ready to be used and will track my location at all times on the hike so I can retrace my steps if needed.
