I was camping out here all alone, days after telling my friend “My dog will find me when it’s the right time”..
I had intended on staying one more night and riding MTB the next morning, but my gut told me to head into town sooner.
I packed up camp and started heading down the road. Then I saw a dog limping down the road, coming towards me.
I got out of the van, she chomped me on the nose with excitement and jumped right into my van…
I found out through a Facebook lost dogs group, that her and 5 other pups were dumped in the desert by a heartless human.
Now years later we returned, Cassie is a whole different dog.
Instead of being afraid of everything the moves, she wants to play at every chance. Instead of whimpering to communicate, she barks with confidence.
Most importantly, instead of limping around, tail between her legs. She runs at full speed, letting the inner greyhound thrive. She’s the best dirt biking partner a guy could ask for.
