Let’s make a movie! Part 1: Shotlisting One of my favorite parts of pre-proing a film: Shotlisting! It is the backbone of the film, that helps you and the Director tell the story visually. I love to deep dive into the character’s backstories to really understand their intentions. Here are 3 questions I ask myself when working with a Director: 1. What are the “emotional beats” of the scene that shift the power dynamics? 2. How do I want the audience to feel in that moment? 3.
