“Quite simply and astonishingly, this is dismantling the National Park Service as we know it, ranger by ranger and brick by brick.” In the latest move the undercutting the Park Service, the Trump administration plans to terminate NPS leases and shutter 34 offices across the country that function as visitor centers, law enforcement offices, museums and hubs for critical park services. These reckless lease cancellations will likely result in permanently closed visitor centers, millions of artifacts without climate-controlled homes, and critical facilty resources housing emergency, search and rescue and law enforcement gone.
