Thoughts on boredom, entropy & the Shadow
A wise old psychologist used to ask me the following list of questions as I was on the cusp of transition:
How bored are you?
Are you numb or is it apathy?
What would happen if you just sit in it and do nothing?
What are you willing to work with?
Whats got you angry inside?
Each of these questions were a prompt that challenged rumination, an antidote for action, they were also a gauge by which he could often determine a clients next move and their readiness by which they act.
When we are bored we aren’t wanting a list of options as much as we are simply wanting to be acknowledged.
To sit in the discomfort of numbness is to be uncomfortable until we are ready to shift into creation.
