9.16.24 In contemplating “undying” I realize how much of the healing process has put me in a position to choose whether I resurrect parts of who I once was in order to receive and make whole those old parts I’ve suppressed for so long. The cycle of life and death isn’t always a forward motion. Sometimes we pass through life in retrograde as a way of renegotiating past experiences that have new perception and meaning to them in order to welcome new experiences in. This can be an intense part of shadow work as we consciously observe the resurrection of our old selves, review the events that happened, feel and express sometimes for the first time the somatic responses happening in our bodies, and then witness the judgements in our awareness and start to challenge them. This is not an easy process, to challenge the shame we carried for so long and give other meanings a voice by which we now have a better understanding.
