Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people. ~ Carl Jung Getting to know your shadow can reveal subconscious patterns that you adopted to support your survival. Identifying the subconscious patterns is a first step towards observing how those patterns still show up for you now. Knowing when, where and how these shadows show up gives clues as to who or what happened to you that build up the shadows to begin with. Once you name those patterns, you can start to track the frequency and triggers by which they show up. Doing shadow work isn’t a modality to eradicate the shadow, it’s used to shed light onto the shadow as a way to observe yourself and create awareness in how one responds to what is triggering the shadow.
