My name is Adrienne. I have a triple neurodivergence, Dyslexia, Autism & ADHD. I was born with a connective tissue disorder in my eyes, an invisible disability. I live with Hashimoto’s disease - my thyroid was removed in my late 20s after the birth of my third child & a thyroid pre-cancer diagnosis, around the same time my son was diagnosed with T1D. I’ve led the majority of my life mis-diagnosed, misunderstood, and misrepresented. Unseen, I was spiraling in shame as I swung from high achieving productivity to burnout, over and over and over. Being raised in a religion and systemic construct that if you just try harder you can become better - ableism was the root of the shame I carried for years, in trying to be “normal”.
