That’s it? Don’t get me wrong, visuals and action are stellar, and the acting of course is solid across the board, but by the end it’s an entire copy and paste of the last movie almost beat for beat.
For James cameron, this feels unnatural for a movie to feel so stale and weightless, which is unfortunate because I like this franchise. What’s more odd is how he said this was the second half of the story, when in reality it’s just a rehash of what came before with the exact same plot, which doesn’t make sense to me.
As for how much they promoted the ash people, they were great for the first half and then completely butchered by the end, ultimately going the same route as how the second film went, which is a shame because there is so much potential with that.
All in all I just am baffled by this movie. It’s entertaining but when you keep doing the exact same story with the exact same ending the stakes are completely lost, and now I’m not sure if I’m interested in Avatar 4 or 5. Very...
