In a thumbs up or down world, I’d give it the slightest of thumbs ups. Incredibly safe to the point of it not being satisfying. It has its moments, but I’d already felt the stakes not being there and this finale just didn’t feel like a climatic end to a good story. The more I’m thinking on it the more I’m kind of underwhelmed. The first four episodes set up some high stakes and by the end of it I just didn’t feel anything about the story. I really believe there was supposed to be something larger and for a 3 year wait to get a season that doesn’t push any boundaries to the story is super disappointing in my eyes. It still has its moments, whether it be the the Vecna entrance scene or the the beautiful final scene that really brought back the emotions that were missing, but to me it’s overshadowed by the baffling decisions this season makes to come to a complete conclusion.
