I get a little dazed everytime I meet a young person who has never heard of Couchsurfing. I get it – it’s not for everyone. If one is drained and can get himself one week of holiday every two years that’s not the best option obviously. Or if one has enough cash to not worry about where is he staying tonight. That’s fair and clear. But what about all those broke young folks saying they want to travel around the world and then spending ⅙ of their (or their parents) wage for a night at a hostel? That means they have never even bothered to google “how to travel without spending much”. Besides, CS not about free, it is about putting yourself into a position of unpredictability. And that’s a great way to have some adventure in the age of Google Maps.
