November is Puerto Rican Heritage Month! 🇵🇷 This Halloween, I embodied Miss Liberty herself and my boyfriend as badbunnypr together representing Nueva Yol as a proud Nuyorican🗽🇵🇷 This look came together with ease, entirely from what I already owned, transforming my first-place trophy from the Bronx Puerto Rican Cultural Pageant into Lady Liberty’s torch. 2025 has been the year of Bad Bunny amplifying Puerto Rican cultura and also the year of my reign, wearing my crown to honor my own homecoming to self. 👑✨ Inspired by the “NUEVA YOL” video, where the Statue of Liberty wears the Puerto Rican flag across her forehead, this imagery runs deep. That scene pays homage to the 2000 protest by Puerto Rican activist Tito Kayak, who famously climbed the Statue of Liberty to hang the Puerto Rican flag, a symbol of resistance, identity, and pride for the diaspora.
