This is the expression of Nuyorican that carries la isla in the entirety of her being. This took a span of 3 days, 4 hours each day - writing this piece, adding more and removing parts — finalizing it at 4 minutes and 40 seconds when performed. I had to cut it to under 3 minutes to share as much as I could with you all! With my mom being my only present family member in the audience — sharing this heart to heart moment with her is a memory I’m deeply proud of for creating.
