The Fashion Portion of the 39th Annual thebxpuertoricanparade Cultural Pageant 🇵🇷took place this past Saturday. On that day in history- March 22, 1873, the Spanish National Assembly finally abolished slavery in Puerto Rico. 🏆🥇 I placed first in the Señorita category representing my grandmother’s hometown Guanica with my heart. I could feel her presence beaming with pride as radiantly as I was. A quote I love to live that empowers me tremendously in the pursuit of my passions is, “Be The Miracle Your Ancestors Prayed For”. I keep a post-it note that my boyfriend had wrote to me on the back of my phone case to carry with me daily that says “Keep making your ancestors proud” to remember my purpose. I’m guided and aligned with my calling as I represent who I am through the strength they embodied.
