Kaiseki: a must-try for foodies in Kyoto 🥢 Kyoto is considered the heart of traditional kaiseki cuisine, a multi-course Japanese dining experience centered on seasonal ingredients, local produce, and beautifully balanced flavors. To be transparent, this meal was a splurge. We usually cook at home and don’t eat out often, especially not at Michelin-starred restaurants. But knowing how much we appreciate food as a family, several friends encouraged us to give this experience a try. Each course was delicate and thoughtfully plated, featuring seasonal vegetables, fresh fish, and comforting, warming broths.
