Built over 600 years ago during the Ming Dynasty, Xi’an’s City Wall is one of the oldest and most complete military defenses in the world. It’s wider than it is tall, and strong enough to survive centuries of history. Originally constructed to protect the ancient capital, it now offers a place for locals and visitors to walk, bike and take in views of archer towers, moats, and the city it once guarded. Here’s how to do it: ✅ Enter from any of the four main gates (we used South Gate) 🎟 Entry ticket: ¥54–60 RMB (≈ $7–8 USD) 🚲 Bike rental: ¥45 RMB (≈ $6 USD) for a single, ¥90 RMB (≈ $12 USD) for a tandem for about 90-120 minutes 💳 Deposit required (cash or WeChat/Alipay) We didn’t see any helmets for rent, but the stone path is wide and smooth.
