On view at Almine Rech Paris, Turenne until April 19, 2025. josedavila It has been long overdue in my career to present a solo project in Paris and offer a direct encounter with my work—an experience that often requires physical proximity to be fully grasped in its most intimate yet expansive dimension. When elements hint at a possible collapse or a precarious balance, our senses become attuned, and our perception sharpens. I am grateful to Almine Rech Gallery for inviting me to realize this project in Paris, providing the space for this dialogue to unfold. Half Empty, Half Full explores the duality between balance and contradiction—understanding contradiction not as conflict, but as an expansion of meaning—through painting and sculpture.
