🥹 My first runway show was like living in a dream. When I saw that first look walk, the tears started to well up and I felt my heart leap from my chest. *Breathe, Mikaela* I repeated to myself, over and over again because I didn’t wanna cry before doing my final walk. I was telling someone that I’d been prepping for this show since before we went to Essence fest, and she corrected me - “you’ve been prepping for this your whole life” 😭 She was right. I remember the very first fashion show I went to. It was Rag & Bone back in 2011 and I was sitting in the 3rd row as someone’s guest. I cried. Because I so badly wanted to experience the feeling of sending my own collection down a runway. But how? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I didn’t have to figure it all out - God did.
