Especially growing up in a small town in Ireland, people just weren’t used to seeing hair like mine. Plus kids are mean brutal savage lol That kid probably didn’t mean any harm, but it stuck with me. Being the only Black girl in so many spaces made it even harder to really find myself. For so long, ! let other people’s opinions shape how I saw me. I didn’t even want to be seen half the time. But healing and this whole self-love journey? It’s forcing me to face every part of me I used to hide. And honestly, I was shocked to realise my hair was still one of the things I hadn’t fully embraced. So here I am — loving all parts of me for real this time. And guys it’s actually been so fun learning how to style and take care of her If I’m going to grow, I need to bring every version of me with me. My hair included. And I hope this makes you also want to embrace all parts of you xx #innerchildhealing #naturalhair #selflove #blackgirlmagic #healinginpublic #embraceyourcurls
