I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a bout of writers block as severe as I did when I first started writing (I should say, when I tried to start writing) my PhD thesis. It was weeks (!) of not being able to get a single word on paper. I cannot even begin to express how frustrating that experience was. It did teach me a lot about writing, though, and I think it’s made me a lot more prepared to overcome it now when I do still occasionally experience it. #phd #thesis #gradschool #writer #writersblock #academia #scholar
