I used to think inclusion was a nice idea ..a gesture of kindness, a seat saved at the table.
But motherhood changed that.
When your child suffers -when pain is stitched into their daily life …you start to see how heavy the word excluded really feels.
It’s in the stares.
It’s in the ramps that don’t exist.
It’s in the invitations that never come.
And it’s in the quiet moments when your child whispers, “I don’t want to be a burden.”
That’s when you realize: inclusion isn’t a trend, it’s survival.
It’s sacred. It’s the Gospel lived out loud.
Disabled people are not an afterthought -they are the heartbeat of humanity.
They teach us what love costs, what joy really means, and what Heaven looks like when it breaks through the cracks of this world.
If we could see the disabled community not as something to fix, but as a place of gift, we’d stop teaching our children to look away , and start teaching them to look closer!
