What do you get when you combine a former Fighting Bees basketball player, three SAU engineering students, and a serendipitous mastery of sewing? The origin story of @swsh_official. SWSH (sounds like "swish") began as an innovative collaboration between former SAU basketball player and assistant men's coach Christopher Spartz '07, '13 MOL and mechanical engineering majors Cole Hemann ’19, Jake Volkman '19 and Anthony Botello '19. SWSH is a basketball shooting sleeve system that keeps a player's elbows in on their shot, reinforcing proper mechanics and improves shooting accuracy. Building prototypes with various materials and sizes, developing the SWSH prototype was the perfect Senior Design and a final-semester experiential learning project for the engineering trio.
