On March 10, 2021, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge, was sworn in as the 18th U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. She is the first Black woman to hold this position in 40 years. 
The former mayor of Warrensville Heights and past National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., served as the Chair for the Congressional Black Caucus in 2013. Elected in 2008, she served as the 11th Congressional District of Ohio. As an active member of the Agriculture Committee, she fought to defend families suffering from hunger across the nation from SNAP cuts and other programs that would benefit these families.
