Viktor Orban conceded defeat in Hungary's election on Sunday, calling the outcome 'painful, but definitive' after 16 years in office. "Although the election results are not yet complete, they are understandable and clear. [...] The responsibility and opportunity of governance were not given to us. I congratulated the winning party," Orban said. "What this election result tonight means for the fate of our country and nation, and what its deeper or higher meaning is, we do not know now; time will decide this. But whatever the outcome, we will serve our country and the Hungarian nation from the opposition as well," he added.
