Whenever I hear that the commentators got my pronouns correct on the broadcast it always warms my heart. I can’t help but think of all the nonbinary people tuning in and seeing that there is in fact a place for them in sports and this world. Forever grateful for all the wonderful people in this sport who use they/them/theirs pronouns when referring to me. Y’all are all helping make the world a little bit better for LGBTQ+ people by normalizing something that is far too often othered. I’ve always been a firm believer that sports have the power to set the stage for what is possible. And because of track and field, I now know for certain that a world where trans nonbinary people are seen, celebrated, and affirmed is 100% achievable. #nonbinary #trackandfield #theythem
