What a pleasure to work with the Woodhaven Symphony Band who recently premiered my composition “Portrait of Snooki” commissioned by Maestro Bradley Faryniarz and a consortium of local band directors 💙💙 Program notes: This piece is dedicated to my French bulldog: Snooki, a rescue I adopted in the summer of 2024. She is full of love, mischief, and an endless demand for cuddles. Portrait of Snooki is my attempt to capture her spirit in a lively Grade 3.5 concert band work. Like her personality, the music rarely stays in one place for long. Themes shift playfully, offering an auditory portrait of her daily adventures: moving from person to person, activity to activity, meal to meal, and-of course-in and out of nap time.
