One of America's best-kept secrets is that it's the native sucker capital of the world 🙌 That's right, the United States is the primary home to almost #allthefish in the family Catostomidae (78+ species). We're pleased to introduce you to one of them: the beautiful, bejeweled Golden Redhorse. This fish becomes adorned with "nuptial" tubercles during its spring spawning migration. It's fun to catch, good to eat, important to the ecosystem, and just plain cool. Sucker migrations rival those of Pacific salmon in the Northwest and Alaska and river herring and other sea-run fish on the East Coast.
