1 Youth in custody & 2 Replica Guns seized‼️😳 A lockdown was issued Tuesday morning at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute after reports that a gun was seen in a hallway. As a precaution, nearby Chimo Elementary School was also placed into lockdown while police responded to the situation. Smiths Falls Police say officers seized two replica handguns and took one youth into custody. Authorities later confirmed that there was no ongoing threat to students or staff, and the lockdown was officially lifted around 12:30PM. The Upper Canada District School Board stated that student and staff safety remains their top priority, thanking everyone for their cooperation during the incident. Classes resumed afterward, with students continuing their day as scheduled. Police say the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been announced at this time.
