The real-time translation helped the woman clearly explain what she needed, while the officer was able to calmly guide her and provide assistance. In moments like this, understanding each other can make all the difference. This technology is part of Ottawa Police’s body-worn camera rollout, first introduced in 2025 to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
