Emergency crews responded to a blaze on the 19th floor of a residential building at 395 Somerset Street West around 9:30 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported heavy smoke and flames, with one person TRAPPED on a balcony due to the intense heat inside the unit. Firefighters rescued several residents from the apartment, including three people who were found unconscious inside. Paramedics say one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another later died in hospital, while two others were transported to hospital, including one in critical condition.
