#tbt Manhattan photographed Nov 4, 2015, 10:28am (6 years ago today to the minute) from about 5000ft. Normally helicopters are restricted to 2000ft and below, so this required quite a bit of planning to get up into the jumbo-jet lanes. I remember it being FREEZING up there with the doors off, despite the clear sunny weather. Look at the way the built environment tapers off to the north and yields to a thick cover of orange-red trees.
