7 days into being a twin mom and I feel like I’ve lived a lifetime already. Here’s what I’m learning (and re-learning) in real time: That two babies is not twice the work… it’s something else entirely. Exponential. Chaotic. Beautiful. That two things can exist at once— I can be deeply grateful they’re here, safe and healthy… and also completely overwhelmed trying to feed them, soothe them, and figure it all out. That no amount of experience prepares you for postpartum. Each time is its own world. Its own version of you. Its own unraveling and rebuilding. That watching identical twins is mesmerizing. Not just how they look—but how they move, cry, and exist. It’s like witnessing something sacred in real time. That exclusively breastfeeding twins is possible. But also hard. Emotional. And at times has me considering donor milk, pumping, and bougie European formula all in the same thought. That after never using a pacifier with my other babies these boys said otherwise. And honestly...
