Blackfoot-led documentary Bring Them Home / Aiskótáhkapiyaaya has been nominated for two News & Documentary Emmy Awards — recognized for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Music Composition. Directed by Ivan MacDonald and Ivy MacDonald, and narrated by Lily Gladstone, the film follows a Blackfoot-led effort to return buffalo to their homelands after near extinction. Bring Them Home traces the decades-long work of the Blackfoot Confederacy to restore buffalo to the land — and with them, culture, relationship, and healing. Across the 47th News & Documentary Emmy Awards, three Indigenous-led and adjacent nominations account for approximately 0.8% of the total (373). In addition, Frontline (PBS) coverage of Alaska’s Vanishing Native Villages earned a nomination for Outstanding Climate, Environment or Weather Coverage.
