On Saturday, 11 April, US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) struck two vessels ‘operated by Designated Terrorist Organisations’ in the Eastern Pacific, killing five people.
Aerial footage released Sunday captured the vessels exploding.
SOUTHCOM confirmed the ships were on narco-trafficking routes; two men died in the first strike, while three were killed in the second. One individual survived the initial attack, prompting a search-and-rescue mission.
Carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear to disrupt cocaine and fentanyl flows, this operation brings the total number of narco-terrorists killed in the region to at least 168 since September 2025.
