COUNCILMEN CLASH: A Smithtown Town Board meeting turned into a heated confrontation and led to criminal charges. Video of the meeting shows Councilman Tom McCarthy pushing fellow Councilman Thomas Lohmann’s chair before confronting him. McCarthy says Lohmann shoved him and punched him in the jaw, although that is not on video. One councilmen was charged with assault.
