FUN FACT: J’ouvert, from the French jour ouvert meaning “daybreak” - is one of the most powerful traditions in Caribbean Carnival, rooted in post-emancipation celebrations of freedom, resilience and pure expression. At Yardmas J’ouvert, the energy was undeniable as the roads of Kingston filled with colour, rhythm and non-stop soca vibes straight into sunrise. That whole “getting messy” tradition? It actually started as a symbol of equality, once everybody is covered in paint or oil, nobody stands out… just pure vibes and freedom. Next stop… the big one. See you on the road at Jamaica Carnival 2026 Road March in the morning 🇯🇲🎭✨ #JamaicaCarnival #YardmasCarnival #Jouvert #RoadMarchReady
