CAL FIRE is putting in the work to protect communities and restore ecosystems. CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit recently conducted a prescribed fire to reduce the wildfire risk and improve habitat over 112 acres of Calaveras County. The operation utilized an array of tools to safely return this landscape to a more normal fire interval. CAL FIRE’s Incidents Page features a “Prescribed Fire” layer, allowing the public to view select active prescribed fire projects taking place across the state.
