🐄 Animal rescue along the Central Coast.
Last week, firefighters and rescue personnel responded to a report of a 5-month-old calf stranded approximately 50 feet below a steep beach cliff along the central California coastline. The calf is believed to have been down for several days and was located by the ranch dog.
Crews deployed heavy rescue resources and constructed a technical rope system to safely access the calf and raise both the animal and the rescuer back up the cliff. The operation required clear communication, controlled movement, and careful footing due to the steep terrain and coastal conditions.
Through coordinated efforts and strong teamwork, the rescue was completed safely. The calf, now named “Rock-Sand,” has been reunited with the rancher and is doing well.
