The Swimmers, 2016–17 Shot over two successive winters, alice.zoo documents the women who swim at Hampstead Heath Ladies’ Pond all year round, even when the water drops to -1°C. In the darkest months the pond almost freezes over, leaving only a narrow stretch of water. They swim anyway, right up to the ice, listening to it crack and shift.
