HS me had no idea how difficult she was making things for future me šŸ™„ I’m so happy to still be doing what I love, but the decisions I made in HS and middle school almost ended my running career. When I was younger, I thought I needed to have a ā€œrunners bodyā€ to be a runner. That led to years of restriction and body image issues, and weakened my body to the point that I got 6 bone injuries in 1 year. What I understand now is that a runner’s body is the byproduct of consistent training and proper fueling—trying to reverse engineer a certain body will only limit training adaptations and long term development. I’m so lucky that I realized this and made changes before it was too late to recover. We are all young and dumb at one point, but the decisions we make aren’t irreversible. It’s always possible to choose a different path 🫶 I’m grateful every day that the path I chose to take allowed me to stay in the sport šŸ¤— #bodyimage
