NYIAS 2026 is a wrap! nyautoshow celebrated its 125th anniversary with a strong focus on the intersection of rugged utility, EV practicality, and increasing affordability. I'm told attendance is up 25% this year and I'm also told EVs swept for the first time, all the top awards -- 2026 World Car of the Year, the BMW iX3 and Lucid Gravity named World Luxury Car Yeah, there were a lot of brands showcasing EVs on the one hand, but on the other, the return of V8 power, like the Ram 1500 5.7-liter HEMI and the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport. Nothing excited me more than the debut of the 2027 Nissan Z Nismo (now with a manual option). As a Nissan/Infiniti fan since first owning a car, it was nice to see a big, big update to the Z my gramps once owned back in the 70s-80s.
