Funny story behind this shot... I had just got this beauty of a lens back from the Canon repair depot yesterday after 6 weeks in the shop. I figure I'd give it the game test to make sure everything was functioning as it should be. I go down to the photo hole in warm up, and believe me, it wasn't even 2 minutes in and a puck shot by Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl hit the edge of the hole literally one inch from my lens. Leon gave me the "sorry wave" 👋 and it was all good... but that was a close one. 🤏 This lens might have been on the way back to the repair depot.😆 The resulting photos from the moments after the shot show some awesome smiles from the guys... Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.
