Always excited when one of my specialty images makes it's way onto a hockey card. Here's an overhead shot of Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor on @upperdecksports brand new 2020/21 UD Series One hockey cards - canvas subset. As mentioned before, during the course of shooting a game my shot request list is usually pretty heavy. Sometimes I feel that my creativity suffers at the expense of getting the required shots. But every once in a while I can sneak in a creative image. This one was a beauty and well worth the wait. To start, the "NHL Face-off" text only appears in the ice for the first month of the season, so there are not a lot of games to grab this shot. Second, you always want to release your shutter at just the right moment to get a star player flying over the logo.
