There were several times I completely scrapped the piece and started over until I finally found something I liked. I wanted to create some wall art that wasn't necessarily a photographic image, instead I envisioned something more along the lines of an expressionism piece of art. Something to capture the essence of the building during it's finest time, both colorful and bold, yet wispy and dreamy to bring back the countless fond memories fans have had in this venue over the years. Opening in 1974, Northlands Coliseum was the heart of sports and entertainment in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For more than 40 years, this arena played host Edmonton Oilers hockey club along with various other big name hockey and sporting events.
