Priscilla Gonzalez, a colon cancer survivor, is a featured participant in this year's Healthy Swings Charity Home Run Derby benefiting the americancancersociety. She is a metalsmith artist who graduated with honors from Colorado State University while battling colon cancer. In late 2019, Priscilla started “not feeling right” and was hoping her bloating and fatigue would resolve on their own. In the back of her mind, she knew she should see a doctor, but then COVID hit. In October 2020, her husband convinced her to see a doctor and a blood test showed her blood count was extremely low. On October 22, she was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer. She had surgery and a three-month regimen of chemotherapy and is now cancer-free. Priscilla will join broncos players, journalists and other cancer survivors to raise money for the fight against cancer at Coors Field, home of the rockies, on June 7th.
