Today, as part of our
#BreastfeedingAwarenessMonth series, meet Dr. Jennifer Braverman and her 11-month-old baby. Follow us for breastfeeding tips and testimonials from our Maternal-Fetal Medicine department this weekend.
“Being a working mom and pumping is not easy! I have an appreciation for the challenge of remembering to bring all the supplies to work and finding the time to pump.
I wish I heard more often that breastfeeding is not an all-or-nothing thing. I used donor milk in the early days and started supplementing with formula around 5 and a half months. I believe that for parents who wish to breastfeed, even some breastfeeding can have meaningful benefits.
This picture is nursing on the day I got my COVID-19 vaccine. I was so excited to get vaccinated and feed my baby. One of the best things about breastfeeding has been hopefully providing my baby with some protection from COVID-19 [through antibodies from the vaccine]."
