“Being a new mom and going back to work is a physical and emotional roller coaster. One of the ways I’ve found to remain connected to both of my daughters is breastfeeding and pumping milk for them while at work.
As a clinical MFM (Maternal-Fetal Medicine), a lot of the women I see postpartum have preterm delivery where I often can share pumping tricks, tips, and milk supply support issues that I have found helpful in my own experience.
I was about 20 weeks pregnant with Anne when COVID-19 hit, so being able to help support her immune system through her first year and beyond with antibodies after my COVID vaccinations have been huge. However, breastfeeding can be hard and a fed baby is best. Any breastmilk you can get into your baby is great, but it can be like a second (or third or fourth job).
